Or a Combination: Education and experience may be combined to meet the basic qualifications. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related such as illustrative design, commercial art, fine arts, industrial design, architecture, drafting, interior design, or other fields related to the position. It includes experience using exhibit production and maintenance tools of table saw, panel saw, or band saw and experience fabricating and installing exhibit cases and panels using wood, metal and plastic. For this position, specialized experience is defined as installing, maintaining and finishing exhibits. GS-11 Experience: You qualify for this position if you have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in the Federal Service. In addition to the basic requirements above: This includes work in the appropriate field, e.g., design, modelmaking, art, taxidermy, or restoration. Unpaid experience is creditable, provided the work done was of a quality level and demonstrated the ability required for the position. Fabricate shipping crates, and pack, ship, and installs structural exhibit components, and use various leveling devices to hang artwork, panels and labels.Tools range from small hand power tools to machinery, including table saw, panel saw and band saw. Operate, maintain, and/or manage equipment for exhibits production or maintenance.
Working from design drawings, the incumbent prepares and installs finished exhibits and is responsible for their maintenance.
